Give Help
Part of LiKen’s mission is to mitigate the material losses experienced by the extremely vulnerable kids we serve. These come in many forms: clothing, furniture, ear phones, bikes, art supplies, and instruments to name just a few. The belongings they leave behind are often things that they were using as healthy coping mechanisms, and we want to ensure that they are replaced whenever possible.
Some of the kids we serve need Uber gift cards and/or T passes to lessen the burden of paying for transportation to and from his/her after school job. Others need their cell phone repaired so that they can remain in touch with friends and loved ones. ...the possibilities are endless and unpredictable.

Get Involved through Events
Birthday parties with a mission
Encourage your party guests to bring items to benefit the kids we serve, in lieu of gifts. Contact us to find out what’s most needed at this time. We’ll provide a flyer to share with your guests by text or email, complete with links for your guests to order needed items with ease. We will arrange pick-up or drop-off after your event.
Pouches of Love assembly event
Whether you’re looking to host a mission-based corporate event, engage a Boy or Girl Scout troop in an activity that benefits kids in need, or host a Ladies’ Night In for a Cause, assembling our signature Pouches of Love with colleagues, peers, friends, and family members is a wonderful way to contribute to LiKen’s mission!
Supply drives
Collecting frequently-needed items at your home, school, or place of work is simple but impactful. We’ll provide signage for you to use and a flyer to send out. You provide a receptacle for donors to place their items in, and when your collection period ends, we’ll arrange pick-up or drop-off.
Other ways to help
Be an Individual Wish-Granter
Sometimes, a young person we’re serving has an acute and very specific need that we aim to fill as quickly as possible, such as a school backpack with supplies (these sometimes get left behind in the chaos of displacement), or a new pair of sneakers. It's not uncommon for kids who are removed from their parents' care suddenly to leave the home with only what's on their feet at that moment, which might be flip flops, slippers, or a pair of sneakers that no longer fit well.
Help with Logistics
We need dedicated people we can call on when an item that one of our kids needs has to be collected and/or delivered. Generally, these will be items like beds, mattresses, desks. If you’re willing to hop in your truck and show up for a kid who’s just had to be re-homed and is in need of basic furniture, click the link below to be notified when there is a logistical need in your area. You can accept or decline the “job” at that time based on your availability.
